THE STORY SO FAR.
Tanya Lazarou has been working as a model since 2002 and has a diverse modelling background with an extensive portfolio including work in the following areas; catwalk, photographic modelling, television, swimsuit and fashion.
Tanya Lazarou has won and placed in many Australian swimsuit/modelling competitions and has worked along side many high profile presenters actors and musicians such as Rove McManus, Deltra Goodrem, The Black Eyed Peas and Jet at the 2004 Aria Awards (as the trophy presentation model). She has also appeared in the Hahn light premium TV commercial as the girl at the bar, a Medibank Private TVC, Good Morning Australia and Channel 7's Sunrise, as well as several magazines including; Cosmopolitan, Ralph, Street Machine and Fuel. Tanya represented Sydney in the Lexmark Miss Indy competition, and placing 3rd in photographic judgingin the Miss Indy National finals 2003.
On the modelling competition circuit, Tanya competed with former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins on several occassions, and was even crowned Miss Surfest 2006 - Newcastle's largest sports model competition and the only one of its' kind that is held in conjunction with a world professional surfing tour event. Also under her belt is the title of Miss Summernats 2005.
Other achievements include extensive charity work. In September 2006 Tanya's fundraising efforts totalled over $9,000 in a 4 week period for Breast Cancer research. This project allowed her to work in the community not only raising money but also raising Breast Cancer awareness. In 2007, Tanya also worked on the World 's Greatest Shave to raise money for the Leukemia Foundation.
In 2006, Tanya was also crowned Miss Eastwood Granny Smith Festival Queen and enjoyed her role as an ambassador for the Ryde-Eastwood area and the festival. This role has offered her the opportunity to be actively involved in numerous community projects. Tanya was also Miss Bike Week and 1st runner up at the famous Miss Bondi Competition 2005. In 2004 Tanya represented NSW in Miss World Australia, and in April 2007 Tanya was selected as one of 28 girls in Australia to compete in Miss Universe Australia.
Tanya also won the Best Millinary award at Rosehill Gardens on Golden Slipper Race Day 2007, and Best Dressed at Royal Randwick on Oaks Day, April 2007, and most recently was the overall winner at Doomben racecourse in Brisbane, during their respective Fashions On The Fields competitions.
